Rehabilitation

If acute injuries (strains, sprains, breaks, etc) are frustrating, then chronic pain is the absolute pits! A recent study indicated that at any given time, one third of Australians are in pain. While most acute injuries (if properly treated) will heal within two to six weeks, chronic pain can be an ongoing menace, wearing your body down and sapping your will.
Previous injuries or poor postural habits create muscle imbalances. These imbalances cause dysfunctional biomechanics, accelerating the process of joint degeneration and can ultimately lead to a complete loss of function.
As if that’s not enough, then the physical sensations of pain go to work on the mind and emotions. Certain thoughts contribute to the negative experience, as the memory of yesterday’s pain and the anticipation of tomorrow’s discomfort cloud the mind, often triggering the emotions of fear, anxiety and depression.

RISE Personal Training rehabilitation is a holistic healing system combining corrective exercises with relaxation and pain management techniques.

The first step involves a comprehensive postural assessment, during which any structural and functional deficiencies are identified. That means we examine the painful area in the context of your entire body, taking note of the inevitable compensatory movement patterns that are the result of your body trying to avoid more pain. This is followed by a series of health tests (including heart and lung function) and a detailed recording of your medical / injury history. At this point, we ask permission to contact and instigate a working relationship with any other health professionals you may be consulting. We often work in conjunction with complementary therapists.

RISE Personal Training rehabilitation ensures your recovery is in safe hands, as you are skillfully guided through a series of corrective exercises designed to reprogram faulty neuromuscular patterns and restore a state of balance to the length and strength of your muscles. Additionally, you are taught specific breathing and relaxation techniques that are scientifically proven to reduce the effects of physical pain, and help you start feeling better right away.

We’ve helped many people that had spent years going from one therapist to the next, unsuccessfully looking for answers, before discovering our system. Some even told us they had been “given up on” or had been told “the pain was all in their head”. Many had lost hope and had started to doubt whether they would ever find relief.

When you contact RISE Personal Training you can be absolutely certain that we:

- have the technical expertise and practical experience to help you

- will listen to you

- will absolutely not give up on you!
