Strength – Flexibility – Body Shaping

Your natural body shape is beautiful. There is not another person on the planet with a shape like yours.
At this moment you may not feel comfortable in your body. Perhaps it’s covered in a layer of excess body fat, weighing you down and tiring you out. Perhaps your muscles aren’t ideally shaped, due to lack of use or poor postural habits. DON’T WORRY! This is nothing more than a temporary state. Your genetic potential (the ability to achieve the perfect shape you were born with) is within you right now, just waiting to be re-awakened.

Your bones grow in length, width and depth until adolescence. These form the basic foundation of your shape. The curves of your spine, the width of your pelvis, the size of your rib cage, the length of your limbs all link together in harmony creating your unique shape. An important function of your bones is to act as anchor points for your muscles, which in turn, provide the bones with support and movement. Most muscles work in groups to create the many, marvelous movements your body is capable of. Each group is balanced by another group, working to oppose the action of the first. It is the intimate balance of length and strength between these opposing groups that ultimately determines your posture.

RISE Personal Training shape programs optimise your natural shape by combining an emphasis on joint stabilisation and alignment, with precise flowing movements which strengthen and stretch your whole body. We recognise that every single person responds differently to any given exercise, so your program is individually tailored to suit your precise needs.

Our philosophy regarding resistance training (using weights) is simple. First learn how to control your body, then if your goals include developing bulkier muscles, add some external resistance.

Most traditional gym programs are upside down. Beginners are started on weight training equipment (in the name of toning up) before they are taught how to use their body properly…but think logically for a moment…until the length and strength of your muscles are balanced in a way that promotes optimal joint function, adding weight to your movements will only perpetuate any imbalances. In other words, your strong muscles just get stronger while your weaker muscles continue to be ignored. This approach to musculoskeletal training can be likened to driving along a one way road towards a dead end. Whether in 3 months or 3 years, the end will appear in the form of injury or frustration from lack of results.

RISE Personal Training shape training ensures you spend your time wisely. We provide you with an intelligent, time efficient workout that leaves you looking and feeling fantastic.
As you learn to focus your attention on each part of your body, cultivating an awareness of where it is in space and which muscles are working, you’ll begin to appreciate the difference between an exercise that is helping you and one that is hurting you.

Are you ready to discover what your body is really capable of?!

Pilates
This precise system of strengthening and stretching the whole body draws on inspiration from both eastern and western exercise regimes. With an emphasis on correct muscle recruitment patterns and postural alignment, Pilates is ideal for all age groups and levels.

Yoga Asana
Known as the science of self realisation, the origins of yoga can be traced back over 5000 years. The ancient texts define it as a method of “stilling the fluctuations of the mind” resulting in the individual’s awareness of their continuous connection with universal consciousness. Yoga opens the body and clears the mind.
RISE Personal Training offers a number of styles of hatha yoga, combining the elements of strength, flexibility, breathing and relaxation in which the body is balanced and the mind is calmed.
One of the styles is Yoga Synergy - a dynamic, moving meditation developed by Sydney based physiotherapists Simon Borg - Olivier and Bianca Machliss.
Private Home Sessions and Group Classes are available across the Sydney metropolitan area.

Balance Training
Using fitballs, BOSUs, foam rollers, wobble boards and chi balls, RISE balance training really puts the “FUN” in functional strength! Fantastic for working the synergistic muscles (the ones that are missed by machine weights) this one is guaranteed to get you giggling! We’ve helped 8 year olds to 83 year olds, athletes to post operative patients with this fun, challenging workout.

Resistance Training
If you want bigger muscles and more body weight, then this is the RISE Personal Training shape program for you. We have resistance training workouts to increase, lean muscle mass, absolute strength, strength endurance and speed–strength (power). Ideal for body builders or athletes of sports in which increased body weight and explosive strength improve performance.

Flexibility Training
If your muscles are not long enough to allow your joints to move through their full range of motion, then you’re simply not getting the most out of your body. Why not throw off the invisible shackles of stiffness and experience the freedom of movement you were born to enjoy! RISE Personal Training flexibility training involves active (trainer) assisted stretching, and incorporates techniques such as reciprocal relaxation and proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation.
