I had been working out for a year when my intensity began to plateau considerably. I thought it might be useful to engage a personal trainer for a couple of sessions in order to put together a program that would provide me some variation from the same series of exercise I had been repeating.
My experience with personal trainers in the past lead me to believe that they were good at putting together exercise programs and providing a bit of extra encouragement during the session, but working with John has shown me that they can totally change the way you think-not just about exercise and fitness but about your well being in its broadest sense. RISE are actually holistic, it is not advertising rhetoric or some vague new age concept, they provide a systematic and effective way of approaching your health and fitness goals.
I started working out to assist with poor sleep and to cope with stress, and so I found the breathing techniques that help you to build awareness and thus control your state of mind to be extremely helpful. Exercises that combine intense concentration and physical activity like boxing are also particularly great ways to deal with stress while the pilates and yoga stretches have become indispensable for somebody like me who is sitting at a computer for 8 hours a day.
So what I had planned to be a couple of sessions has now turned into a permanent part of my week, the benefits so far have been immediate (feeling amazing the day of the workout) and long term (more able to deal with stress, more energy and focus in day to day life).

During my year long personal training with RISE, not only did I achieve my physical goals, for the first time in many years I developed an emotional and psychological calm in my life. John is by far the most amazing and intuitive personal trainer I have ever worked with. Not only did he listen to me to help me to identify my goals, he took a personal approach in helping me achieve them. Nothing was text book and it was ALWAYS fun.
I suffered a few potential obstacles, namely bone spurs in my neck and a damaged ACL, which I thought would completely hinder my sessions. Instead, John created a program that helped to alleviate (what I thought were) my physical limitations - he always made me believe that I had just that little bit extra in me (which of course I did) and the results were amazing!
Seeing the results was one thing, but feeling the results was life changing. My quality of life improved ten fold, and although it has been a little while since we've trained together, the lessons that I learned are with me daily.

I have been a client of RISE for 4 years. Prior this I was finding motivation to exercise was lacking yet my need greater as I approached my 40's.

This variety is particularly attractive to me as I never get bored with my sessions and am challenged to do things I would not have done in the past. The regular objective measurements of my progress are motivating and my improvements clearly measured. "Within 4 weeks after the birth I was back to my pre pregnancy weight."

In August 2003 I gave birth to my first child. RISE looked after my fitness during pre and post pregnancy, designing a special fitness program and eating plan. My weight and body fat were regularly monitored and the results graphed so I could maintain a healthy pregnancy.
After a very focused and quick delivery, my recovery was very quick which was accelerated by my RISE personal training sessions of Pilates after the birth. Within 4 weeks after the birth I was back to my pre pregnancy weight. The training was gentle and focused on Pilates and strength of the pelvic muscles.
I highly recommend RISE trainers and will use their techniques for my second child. They are professional, prompt and knowledgeable in their field, and took an approachable and sympathetic nature to my pre and post pregnancy.

Group Mat Classes

"Great way to workout and relax at the same time."

I feel like I have had a complete workout after each class, and I look forward to each week. I have noticed that the classes have actually helped me when I work out at the gym. E Programs

"In the first month alone of doing the RISE E-Program the change was incredible...."

We are now up to our 4th month of our ongoing RISE E-Program. We are both very active people, but didn't know what else to do to increase our fitness levels, and achieve our own specific goals. 
In the first month alone of doing the RISE E-Program the change was incredible. Not only did we lose weight and body fat, but we also gained a higher fitness level, muscle tone and a greater feeling of well being.
The E-Program is definitely the way to go for us - we love it. Our trainer comes to see us once a month and puts us through rigorous testing (we can't hide anything!) - and then within 2 days our program has been emailed to us.
It is up to us to stay motivated and complete the program on our own, but that means we can do it when it suits us, and fit it around our other commitments as they change on a weekly basis.
Any questions we have are asked via email - and you always have a response within 24 hours.  If you are one of those busy people who can't find the time to book in a regular personal training session - then this is the way to go.
